Engaging Impasse: Circles of Contemplation and Dialogue®
This project will bring together persons rooted in the Catholic faith tradition whose work for the transformation of church and world has brought them to experiences of impasse. As leaders in religious congregations, social justice organizations, and educational institutions, they will engage in a process of communal contemplation and dialogue focussed on their impasse experiences. The hoped-for out comes include a release of deep spiritual energy, an experience of community, fresh imagination, and new vision for the continuing work toward a more just, non-violent, and sustainable planet. The project's contribution will enhance the broader transformation going on in our world.
This project is the major work of the Institute for Communal Contemplation and Dialogue organized to educate, resource and organize people of faith to reflect, analyze and act on the critical issues of church and society through a process of contemplation and dialogue.
The Institute contributes to, fosters, and facilitates the larger movement for the transformation of consciousness so as to create new responses to the crises of our time and to cultivate a healthy Earth community.
The Institutes unique contribution is its emphasis on engaging the experience of impasse through communal contemplation and dialogue; its rootedness in spirituality; its commitment to experiential processes and to creating new and safe spaces within which to do the work.
The Institute is under the auspices of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monroe, Michigan and is very grateful for their support.
