Circle Conversations



Marcia Allen, CSJ was an original member of the Design Team for Engaging Impasse: Circles of Contemplation and Dialogue®. In this capacity she participated in the planning and enabling of the circle experiences.

Marcia is a member of the staff of Manna House of Prayer in Concordia, KS. She conducts retreats, gives conferences, workshops and is a spiritual director. In 1997 she received a grant from the Louisville Institute to create a process for the exploration of and workshops for the development of spirituality for leaders. Subsequently, she, in partnership with Bette Moslander, CSJ, conducts developmental experiences in spirituality for elected leaders and members of religious institutes, and administrators/coordinators of retirement facilities for religious institutes.

Marcia has facilitated Chapters and Community Assemblies for religious communities since 1980. Prior to that, she served as teacher and administrator in parochial schools for 17 years.

Marcia has served on the Board of Directors of Marymount College of Kansas; St. Mary’s Hospital; Nazareth Convent and Academy Corporation; and the St. Joseph Foundation for Apostolic and Charitable Purposes. She has also been Chair of Region 13 of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious.

Marcia is a Sister of St. Joseph of Concordia, KS and served two terms as vice president and two terms as president of her congregation. Marcia holds a Doctorate in Applied Ministry in Spirituality from the Graduate Theological Foundation; a M.S. in Administration, Kansas State University; and a B.A. in French, History from Marymount College of Kansas.
